Every muscle, organ, and cell in your body is connected to the brain via your nervous system. These connections form a continuous feedback loop of information within your body. Sensory information sent from the nerve endings throughout your body tell the brain what is going on and how to respond.
Every muscle, organ, and cell in your body is connected to the brain via your nervous system. These connections form a continuous feedback loop of information within your body. Sensory information sent from the nerve endings throughout your body tell the brain what is going on and how to respond.
A majority of the information that is sent to the brain comes from movement in all the joints in your body. When we suffer injuries to our muscles and joints, this affects the quality of this feedback loop, leading to not only aches and pains, but also decreases our ability to run our bodies efficiently. A good analogy is a safety pin: When closed the feedback loop is intact, when open the feedback loop is broken.
By working with the body to enhance range of motion and movement quality, we can improve the feedback loop. This leads to improved movement, respiration, digestion, healing, and quality of life.
